IH Business Cultural Trainer's Certificate

Courses running in 2009

In December, IH Belfast, in collaboration with Barry Tomalin and International House Cultural Training, will run the first IH Business Cultural Trainer's Certificate (IH BCTC) to be held in Ireland.

IH Cultural Training is the cross-cultural and communications training arm of International House, one of the largest language and cultural training organisations in the world, with 147 centres in 53 countries worldwide. Founded in 1953, International House has over 50 years experience in language and cultural training and IH staff have trained and led seminars in over 60 countries on five continents. The hallmark of our training is that it is practical, interactive and focused on specific business needs.

Corporate and public organisations now operate on a global scale. Whether it is via an international assignment, participating in a global team or working with an overseas client, colleague or supplier, interaction with people from different cultures is now an everyday occurrence. But are organisations preparing their people to deal with the challenges of working and doing business internationally? Research has shown that providing cultural training to employees who are working, or planning to work in an international environment can significantly reduce the risks inherent in this type of interaction.

UK and Irish organisations are dealing more and more with overseas clients and partners and are employing more and more international staff. How to work with overseas clients and staff, in joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions, involves understanding their expectations and their way of doing business.

This 3-day intensive workshop will give you the necessary skills to research, design, market, and deliver a one day cross-cultural course for business.
