Combined English course: Belfast and Dublin
International House now offers students the possibility of combining an English language course in Belfast with another period of study south of the border in Dublin, capital of the Republic of Ireland.
This unique combination of study locations provides students with the opportunity to explore two world-famous cities and to investigate both the differences and the many similarities between the north and south of Ireland.
Dublin and Ireland
Ireland's capital city has a wide range of attractions including historic buildings (right, Christ Church Cathedral), art galleries and museums, and world-renowned pubs. The city boasts a unique and vibrant atmosphere which provides the visitor with a truly unforgettable experience.
In recent years the Republic of Ireland has become one of the top destinations for people wishing to learn English - more than 100,000 visitors come every year to learn English in Dublin. This is thanks to Ireland's reputation for extending a warm friendly welcome to overseas visitors, the country's international literary renown and our booming economy.
International House Dublin
IH Dublin's year-round centre is located in the Camden Village Quarter, an attractive district on the south side of the river within seven minutes walk of Saint Stephen's Green and Grafton Street - the cultural and commercial heart of Dublin.
The area is popular with students and there are many local bars, coffee shops and restaurants offering a wide range of food and drinks at reasonable prices. The school has a comfortable student common room with free tea/coffee where students can watch TV, a computer room with high-speed Internet access and Wi-Fi for all students.
During July and August, in addition to the Camden Street school, International House Dublin has exclusive use of Portobello College, a modern third level institute located beside the canal. The college is located just 5 minutes walk from the main school and has its own cafeteria and modern computer lab.
