Finding work in TEFL

Where to start in TEFL

If you're looking for a job as an English teacher either in the UK or abroad, you're on the right track.

The CELTA is the most widely recognised English language qualification in the world and most of the world's leading teaching organisations will give preference to teachers who have successfully completed a CELTA training course.

An internationally recognised qualification from a teacher training organization with an excellent reputation - it gives you a headstart in TEFL.

Helping you find work

There are several ways that IH Belfast can help CELTA trainees find work.

For example, IH Belfast is a member of the International House World Organisation [website] which is made up of some 140 schools located in around more than 40 countries.

Many of these schools are constantly on the lookout for CELTA qualified teachers and, needless to say, teachers who have been trained by another IH centre will have ready access to all job vacancies (see sidebar) within the Organisation.

IH Belfast will also help you prepare your CV and we can even interview you on behalf of another IH school.
