Please note: we do not normally have Beginner level available. There may be a beginner level class open at special times throughout the year but this is not guaranteed and is subject to availability. Please check with the school in advance. The price for a beginner level course is £250 per week – if available. If a student arrives at the school and has not informed us that they are a beginner, IH Belfast reserves the right to offer a course of equal or greater value or to refund payment and cancel the booking.

For individual bookings a deposit of £100 is required which is deducted from the total balance. The remaining balance is due on the first day of the student’s course. Please note that the client is responsible for all bank charges. We regret that we cannot accept payment by Traveller’s Cheque. All payments should be made in GBP (£).
When you book a course and arrange payment, you will receive a booking confirmation to confirm the course you have booked, your course dates and accommodation details. We will also send you a copy of your invoice showing the full fees due.

Please note that any bank charges (for example exchange fees) incurred are payable by the client and will be added to the total balance of the fees. However, we do not charge commission on credit card payments.
You can book your course and accommodation quickly and easily using our online booking system.
Bookings are confirmed upon payment of the deposit. Any remaining amount should be paid on the first day at the school. If you do not wish to book online, you can download an Enrolment Form and send it accompanied by the deposit of £100 which can be paid by credit card, bank transfer or cheque.
International House Belfast charges a placement fee of £50 for accommodation bookings in all cases.
Cheques should be made payable to International House Belfast Ltd., and sent to the school address.
Recipients of scholarship or government grants should pay a deposit of £200 on enrolment. This will be refunded only when full fees have been received from the sponsoring organisation for the full duration of the course.
If a course is postponed, (for example, if there is a delay with the visa application) you must let us know at least two weeks before you are due to arrive, otherwise you will lose your deposit and will have to pay another deposit before we can confirm a new starting date.
Where a cancellation is received 10 days or more before the course is due to start, the deposit is refunded minus administration charges. Where a full cancellation is received with less than 10 days’ notice, the deposit is non-refundable.
If a student cancels a one-to-one lesson, it must be 24 hours or more in advance of the lesson. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the lesson will be lost and there may be no refund.
There are no refunds once the course commences, unless necessary due to exceptional circumstances (personal illness which requires a student to stay home or return home, illness or death of a relative, etc.)
Refunds can only be made by the original method of payment. IH Belfast will deduct any charges incurred before processing the refund. Please note that the school must be notified of potential beginner level students so that we can check availability in advance of booking. In the case of unexpected beginner students, IH Belfast reserves the right to offer a course of equal or greater value (for example one-to-one classes) or to refund payment and cancel the course.
In the case of a visa rejection, IH Belfast will refund the total paid minus deposit.
In the event that the school has to close and/or students have to return home early for reasons of natural disaster such as fire/flooding/infectious diseases or war/terrorism, etc, which are beyond the reasonable control of the school, no refunds will be made. We will make all efforts to keep the school open and running but this may necessitate making some classes larger or changing the timetable to allow staff to cover all scheduled lessons.
We strongly advise students to take out personal insurance to cover for loss of possessions, including laptops and mobile phones, medical expenses and the loss of tuition and other fees if you have to cancel your course or return home earlier than planned. We recommend Guard.Me
Full arrival flight details must be sent to IH Belfast at least seven days prior to arrival in order for IH Belfast to provide airport transfers. No refunds will be granted on transfers if flight details are not sent at least seven days prior to arrival. Airport transfer fees include a maximum of one hour waiting time. In the event of delays exceeding one hour, students will be charged the additional fee at the school.
Bank and public holiday dates when the school will be closed are listed on every course web page and can also be checked directly with the school. Please note that public and bank holidays are non-recoupable. Any holidays taken by a student during their course are at the student’s own discretion and are non-recoupable.
Students registering for a course at IH Belfast agree to follow all internal regulations of the school. If a student behaves in a disruptive manner, does not follow the school rules, is persistently absent from class, or engages in illegal activity, they will be asked to leave the school immediately.
