Why Choose BTEC Higher Nationals?

BTEC Higher National qualifications are recognised by industry worldwide as the ideal preparation for employment. They are also recognised as being equivalent to the first two years of a three or four-year honours degree course. IH Belfast, one of Northern Ireland’s leading training centres, is working in collaboration with the University of Ulster to offer students this attractive and study pathway, combined with the option of gaining work experience each summer.

One of the many advantages of taking a BTEC course is that students have the option to work in a local business for 2-3 months each summer. This work experience will help students understand the day-to-day concerns of business managers and will also enhance their employment prospects when they finish their studies. The work is normally unpaid, although students working in the tourist sector may be entitled to subsidised accommodation.
